With the recent addition of our Short Fixed Piers, we thought it might be helpful to talk about how to hang signage with these handy little fittings.
Typically, our Fixed Piers are used in sets to create a Tensioned Cable solution. However, the Short Fixed Pier may also be used independently to suspend an object, such as signs, from almost any overhead surface. This is easy to accomplish.
The Short Fixed Pier is made up of a base and a body. The base is affixed to an appropriate mounting surface with the supplied hardware fasteners. (Note: It is the responsibility of the installer to select the correct fastener for the application. This is the determined by the weight that will be suspended and the surface to which the base is attached.) A cable is inserted into the pier body and the body is then threaded onto the base. These are typically used in pairs.
The illustration shows a typical installation of this type. The items needed to complete such a set up include;
- Fixed Pier, Short (2x)
- Barrel-End Cables (2x) of desired length
- Single Side-Clamps (4x)
- Sign panel (3rd party sourced of up to 5/32 thick [4mm])
