Well Hung Magazine Rack for the Well Read

Well, he did it again. One of our more advanced users designed something really special with our products. Something we never thought of before – a magazine rack.

We have designed bulletin boards, easels, and a menu display system with our widgets and interior fittings. One of our customers came up with the idea for a coat rack. But this might be the best yet.

Check it out.

Two-tiered magazine rack using Click Rail Track by AS Hanging SystemsHe set it up with two lengths of Click Rail Track, and our relatively new Cable Tensioners. As you can see, there are two ”shelves” in this magazine rack. The top one is configured to hold three publications, each in a reserved area. More on that below. The lower level is used for more capacity. On this level the publications are overlapping. Very clever!

Secured Cable on Magazine Rack Using Track Stop by AS Hanging Systems

This is a close-up of the right hand end of the upper level. You can see how the cable is kept in place by his use of one of our more obscure products – Track Stop. Also, one of our newly released products, Bumpers, protect the track from striking the wall and creates the spacing needed between the wall and the bar so the magazines are easily inserted.

The above photo shows that a Bumper is placed on the rear of the upper rail between each of the magazines. This protects the wall but even more impressive is that it also creates a boundary, an exclusive space, for a magazine to reside. And, since the Bumper is mounted to a track connector that can be relocated along the track, the amount of space reserved can also adjust for a tabloid-sized publication, for example. Very cool!

This is the left end of the lower rail. It is finished in the same manner as the upper rail. An End-Cap nicely finishes the end of the track. The Cable Tensioner is adjustable. The end-user tells us this was very helpful in leveling the two rails.

Magazine rack hangs from Click Rail Track by AS Hanging Systems behind crown molding

If you noticed, you have a good eye and are a regular reader of this blog. Yes, in this image you can see how the magazine rack is hung from above on a Click Rail Track mounted behind crown molding. This same user is the one that shared how he installed our art hanging system in a home office refresh. We wrote about that in an earlier blog post. But as you can see this is not limited to hanging art without nails. Our system is what we have always emphasized; it is all about hanging objects and creating displays in all sorts of interiors.

From the above image you can also reason that such a functional magazine rack could be adapted to hang from any of our existing tracks or piers. It is not limited to being suspended from Click Rail Track. Cable System Wall Track, Cable System Ceiling Track, Contempo® System Track and either of Fixed Piers or Articulated Piers – these are all in play. Also, while this user elected a “suspended” configuration, the same solution could be held in tension if that were desired.

What we were most impressed with in this application is that our products are so versatile – even more so than we imagined. It’s like they are an adult version of some sort of Lego set. But these allow you to create real function. What will you design? Please share. Can you top this?

If you want to know more about how this was done and you would like to install it in your office, give us a call at 866 935-6949 (toll free) or at our local number 450 619-7999. Our customer service representatives can also be reached at info@ashanging.com. Either way, we’ll have all the info you need. Who knows, we might even make this a standard product. Stay tuned.
